Studying BA (Hons) Fashion Design, I developed a passion for storytelling through design, which has motivated my pursuit of skills in both traditional techniques and modern innovations. The merging of which has provided exciting new tools for narrative oriented self-expression, reflected in my final project, 'TOKENS OF THE EPHEMERAL'. Inspired by the impermanence paradox: 'The only constant is change', it aims to capture the transient nature of existence. Using this collection, I seek out the evanescent beauty of the human experience through designs and laser cutting details that encapsulate symbolism of change associated with teeth, with underlying influences from my own Scandinavian heritage. Through the idea that losing your baby teeth and developing permanent teeth is the initial interaction with your adult self, I found an intersection of childhood and adulthood, offering an avenue to explore the growing pains and pleasures mutually experienced throughout our lives.
